Target If Promoted to the Premier League

Leeds hope to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard if they complete promotion to the top-flight, according to the Mirror.

The Whites sit atop the Championship by four points after beating Blackburn Rovers 1-3 yesterday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have consistently been fighting for a chance to be promoted to the Premier League.

Edouard would add a crucial element of firepower to the Whites should they reach the top-flight.

He has scored 28 goals in 45 appearances for the Hoops and is drawing attention from across the border.

Celtic are unwilling to let the forward leave easily, however, as they go in search of ’10 in a row’.

Since arriving in Glasgow in 2018, the 22-year-old has scored 61 goals; an impressive tally that stands at just under a goal per game.

Moving to England

Former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers has previously been linked with wanting to draw Edouard to Leicester City; but the Whites stand firm in wanting to lodge a bid if they are promoted.

Argentine boss Marcelo Bielsa is very specific on what he looks for with signings, and a centre-forward is top of his priorities.

Patrick Bamford has come under criticism from Whites fans having not lived up to the expectations, but he has full support from Bielsa.

The former Middlesbrough and Derby frontman fits well into Bielsa’s tactical set-up that requires a high press and possession-based play.

Leeds added Jean-Kevin Augustin to their ranks in January, but the striker has returned to RB Leipzig having only played a handful of minutes.

The Bundesliga side claim that the deal struck means that Leeds must purchase Augustin if they are promoted.

The Mirror claim that the fee for Augstin could be as high as £17 million.
