Career So Far

Thirty-year-old Brisley began his career at Macclesfield Town after coming through their academy. The Silkmen are the club that Brisley has still represented the most in his career, appearing over 120 times for them.

Following a loan spell at Peterborough United, he moved to the Posh permanently in 2012 and stayed for four years, making 67 appearances in league competition. While there, he had three separate loan spells at Scunthorpe United, Northampton Town and Leyton Orient.

He then moved on to spend the 2016/17 season at Carlisle United and the following two years at Notts County. He joined Port Vale in 2019 and made nine appearances in League Two (plus a further four in the EFL Trophy) as Vale secured an eighth-place finish.

What Was Said?

Speaking to the club website, assistant manager Dave Kevan said: “He’s a top professional, he had to be very patient and comes in and works hard every day.

“It’s a testament to his professionalism that when he came into the side after the Swindon game and got that under his belt he was superb for us, keeping Smith out which is no easy feat.

“He’s experienced and knows the game for a central defender.

“Overall, the type of professional he is makes him a real dependable character and an honest lad that we’re pleased to have at Port Vale.”
