Chelsea Look to Pile Further Misery on West Ham United

Blues Flying High

Chelsea are currently flying high and will be hoping that with a continuation of their perfect record since the restart; they aim to thwart rivals Wolves and Manchester United who are in hot pursuit of a Champions League finish.

Frank Lampard is having an exciting chapter in the current history of Chelsea. They are already buoyed by the summer additions of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech; these reputable forward-thinking players will be hoping to play for Chelsea in the Champions League next season.

West Ham haven’t had it easy playing in-form Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur losing both matches 2-0. A victory could open a three-point gap to help bolster their precarious position. With the urgency to get it right, it should allow some of their more senior personal and multi-million-pound signings to prove influential characters.

Pulisic Is the Man to Watch

Christian Pulisic is in good form proving to be lethal on every level. He has won three-man of the match awards in his last three outings. The winger is seemingly adhering to Frank Lampard’s call for his side to end the season strongly. With his explosive speed and undeniable ability, it seems as if he is once again making a statement to stay in the first team and is certainly proving his £60 million price tag.

Team News

Angelo Ogbonna, Arthur Masuaku and Sebastien Haller are all returning to full fitness. But, it is unlikely that any of them will feature on Wednesday.

Chelsea are monitoring the fitness of Pulisic; the American is a doubt heading into the London Derby. Andreas Christensen is nursing a hip issue and will undergo a fitness test before the match.

West Ham Guilty of Blowing Their Own Bubble

In a season where the Hammers would have sought to fight on a stronger platform, it has proved to be a rather distressing campaign for the Claret and Blues. Haller who was worth a whopping £45 million is on his day as good as a striker they could ask for. But, whether he is incapable of hacking a league which is known for being difficult to settle into or through a lack of proficient service is yet to be fathomed.

There are a lot of players who have cost millions within their side yet it’s disappointing to see that they have so much potential, unable to click and could find themselves in the depths of despair should they go down. One thing is for sure they need to start getting some victories on the board.

Prediction

West Ham can get a result here. It may well be the start of a steady patch of form to guide them to safety. Subsequently, Chelsea will be brimming with confidence and hard to beat as well as needing points for their retrospective aim to compete in Europe’s elite once again.

1-1
