The Ghanaian’s loan deal runs out on June 30, and an extension has not yet been agreed.

‘I Want Him to Stay’

Harris expressed a desire to BBC Sport Wales to see Adomah remain with the club until the end of the season.

The Bluebirds are currently sixth in the Championship, and are undefeated in their last four games.

Adomah was one of two players to arrive on loan until the end of the season late in the January transfer window. The other, Dion Sanderson, is looking likely to remain at the Cardiff City Stadium for the final seven games.

Harris said: “Dion’s pretty much agreed. Wolves are okay with that.

“Forest [Adomah’s parent club] is a different matter. Forest is not straightforward; we are in dialogue with Forest at the moment.

“The bottom line with Albert is I want him to stay, I’ve picked him in every game he’s been at the club for. Albert wants to stay and finish the season here, so we have to keep working with Forest to try and make it happen.

Play-Off Rivals

Both Forest and Cardiff are competing for a place in the Championship play-offs.

While Cardiff have slowly climbed up the table following Harris’ arrival, Forest have spent most of the season in the top half.

As a result, Sabri Lamouchi, the Nottingham Forest manager, may be keen to see Adomah return to the City Ground in the hope that he can make a similar impact to the one he has at Cardiff.

The 32-year-old has been a key player for Harris in south Wales, having started every game. Despite only having two assists to his name in a Cardiff shirt, he has shown an excellent attacking threat on the wings.
