New Contracts

Baines has also been offered a new one-year contract for next season on top of this short-term deal. In the U23 squad, both Nathangelo Markelo and Con Ouzounidis have been offered new deals.

Djibril Sidibe has also signed an extension to his loan deal from Monaco and will now remain at Goodison Park until the end of the season.

Players Leaving

Baines is the only one out of the five players out of contract to be remaining at the club. Everton have confirmed that Oumar Niasse will also leave the club.

Niasse joined the club in 2016, but had time out on loan at Hull City and Cardiff City and spent most of his time at the club out of favour by the club’s hierarchy.

Cuco Martina and Luke Garbutt will also leave the club when their contract expires at the end of the month.

The Blues have additionally announced that Maarten Stekelenburg will leave the club at the end of the season after deciding to return to former club Ajax.

In the U23 squad, Morgan Feeney, Alex Denny, Matty Foulds, Manasse Mampala and Korede Adedoyin have all been released. Kieran Phillips will also leave the club when he has completed this season on loan at Huddersfield Town.

Everton currently sit 10th in the Premier League table and have had a successful restart to the season by holding local rivals Liverpool to a 0-0 draw in the Merseyside Derby.

Following this, they took all three points from a struggling Norwich City side thanks to Michael Keane’s second-half winner.
