Leicester City have expressed an interest, and reports have suggested that Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on the 21-year-old.

Lille are thought to be demanding around £60 million for the exciting youngster. He’s scored 18 times in his debut season in Ligue 1.

Victor Osimhen is Keen to Play in England

The former Royal Charleroi hitman told The Independent that he’d like to play for a big club in England one day.

“I’ve spoken to Odion [Ighalo – his international teammate] about it. He gave me very good advice, he’s a legend and a big brother. My goal is to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world but now I’m very happy in Lille. My priority is to play a lot of games. Signing for a big club and being on the bench is not exciting for me.”

His Season so Far

Osimhen has scored 13 league goals in 27 appearances, with a further five in other competitions. He’s a powerful runner who is capable of getting in behind defences, and he’s a cool customer in front of goal.

According to WyScout, he averages 0.57 expected goals per 90 minutes, which is the third-highest in Ligue 1. This suggests he constantly gets into good positions to score goals. Standing at six foot one, the Nigerian is a considerable threat in the air. He’s involved in an average of 9.89 aerial duels per game, winning an impressive 40.3% of them.
