REPORT: Newcastle United Linked With Arturo Vidal

Arturo Vidal

As reports of a takeover continue to rumble on, Newcastle United seem set for a big change. Several big-name stars are being linked with a switch to the Magpies, with Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal rumoured to be interested in swapping Spain for England under a certain condition.

Newcastle’s possible ambitions have been inciting many players to register their interest in joining the Premier League outfit – of course, due to the benefits it may bring and the attractive competitive nature of the league. Manchester United and Newcastle United are both suspected destinations of Vidal, according to Javier Gascon of Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Newcastle United Linked With Arturo Vidal

Vidal’s Career

Vidal joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in the 2018/19 season. Also having represented Juventus from 2011/12 to 2014/15 when Bayern came calling, he is no doubt a top talent and has bags of experience when it comes to playing for elite status teams. His tough style and his patrol of the midfield with an iron fist added cover to any team’s defence.

His trophy room includes his proof of being a four-time Serie A winner, three-time Bundesliga winner, and one time La Liga champ – is the Premier league next on his hit list?

Newcastle Bound?

Both Manchester United and Newcastle are possible landing destinations for the Chilean. According to Mundo Deportivo, Arturo has faith in the possible Newcastle revolution if the takeover happens, and Max Allegri is appointed manager – the pair having spent a season together back at Juventus. Heavy hints show that Arturo Vidal will reject Manchester United to join Newcastle if things go smoothly in his favour.

Also being surplus to requirements at Barcelona, Arturo’s contract is set to expire in 2021, meaning the Catalans will be looking to sell the Chilean for a reduced price rather than losing him for nothing later.
