Time at Real Madrid

After an exceptional World Cup campaign in 2014, Rodriguez earned himself a move to Real Madrid. The Colombian international was very successful in his first season. He scored 13 goals, also assisting the same amount, but it was a downhill battle from there.

Making fewer appearances, his goal contributions have virtually halved since his opening campaign in the Spanish capital. Many rumours of his departure from there arose, but nothing permanent occurred. Bayern Munich took him on a disappointing two-year loan spell, and he returned to the Bernabeu last summer.

Once again, he has failed to impress, with injury reducing him to just seven La Liga appearances this season.

Links to Manchester United are not new, and while nothing solid has happened as of yet, it may do soon.

Paul Pogba Swap Offer

It is no secret that Real Madrid want to sign Paul Pogba in the summer. He is a long time target of the Spanish Giants, and United are considering accepting their latest offer, which includes James Rodriguez.

However, with the 28-year-old a natural attacking midfielder, they may not need him with Bruno Fernandes having arrived at Old Trafford with an immediate impact.

Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez Move

Real Madrid recently made the surprising move to decrease their asking price for Rodriguez. The report states that while they were holding out for €40 million last summer, they would be willing to accept just €30 million this time around.

Making him more accessible, Everton are also interested, as per the report, and United may end up backing off with other big-money moves higher up on their priorities list.
