Star Striker at Arsenal

Aubameyang has been an excellent player for Arsenal since joining in January 2018.

Last campaign, the Gabon international was fantastic, bagging 22 league goals and sharing the golden boot with Liverpool wingers Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah. He was a vital part of Arsenal’s team last season, helping them to fifth place while struggling under manager Unai Emery.

This season, he has been even better, and far more important.

Aubameyang has 17 goals, putting him second highest in the Premier League after Leicester goalscorer Jamie Vardy. More than that, though, he has been a shining light in an abysmal season for the Gunners. Currently ninth in the table, they are closer to fourteenth place than the top four, and, despite an upturn in results since Mikel Arteta replaced Emery in charge, it does not look as if this season will yield any success.

Aubameyang’s exemplary performances have attracted attention from across Europe, however.

Barcelona Want Aubameyang

One of the most interested clubs in Aubameyang are Barcelona, who want to sign him. The Catalan giants want a striker, with Antoine Griezmann not having had the desired effect since his big-money move from Atletico Madrid. They may sell him in the summer, and Aubameyang could provide the perfect replacement.

Manchester United Also Interested in Aubameyang

Like the Catalan giants, Manchester United want to sign a centre-forward in the summer. Having not replaced Romelu Lukaku in the last window, Anthony Martial has played well in the position, but is not clinical enough to be first-choice there. Aubameyang would be a great signing and one who would fit with United’s fast-paced style of play

Arsenal’s Shock Move

Arsenal recently made the shocking move to drop Aubameyang’s asking price by £15 million, according to the report.

This would put the 30-year-old’s value at just £35 million, an incredible bargain for someone of his quality and is largely due to his contract running out at the end of next season, and the Gunners unsure as to whether he would agree upon a new deal.
