Manchester United Flop Alexis Sanchez Linked With Shock Premier League Move

Great For Arsenal

After a January 2018 move to Old Trafford, there was much excitement over the impact that Alexis Sanchez would have at Manchester United.

The Chilean had been tremendous for Arsenal, having scored 24 league goals in 2016/17 and made great contributions prior to that. He was one of the Gunners’ best players of the decade, and a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryanvalued at roughly half of his Transfermarkt market value, seemed a little unflattering.

Flop for United

Despite his form not having slowed at Arsenal, it came to a dead stop in Manchester.

The Chilean winger never really settled in at United, scoring just five goals in 45 appearances. Furthermore, he did not look like the world-class player who the Red Devils had seen play for Arsenal.

No Better at Inter Milan

Sanchez, like Chris Smalling, was loaned out to Italy last summer, despite his experience. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was looking to reignite the former Arsenal player’s career, and although it worked for Smalling, Sanchez has not done so well.

Injury has hampered his time in Milan, but despite appearing 15 times, he has scored just once. This shocking record has deterred Inter from wanting to sign Sanchez on a permanent basis.

United, however, are unwilling to have him return to United with his immensely high wages, and West Ham United seem to have offered them a lifeline.

West Ham United Want United Flop Sanchez

The report suggests that West Ham have come forward and been in contact with the United attacker’s agent to enquire about his availability.

The Red Devils would be happy to wave goodbye to the high salary and low performance-quality of Sanchez, and the Hammers would love to have someone with so much talent play for them, but the 31-year-old may demand wages that the London side cannot afford.
