Great Performances for Arsenal

Joint club captain Aubameyang has been exemplary for Arsenal this season. He is the second top scorer in the Premier League and first for Arsenal by a long way. Aubameyang has provided them with an outlet, scoring against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Chelsea.

Without him, Arsenal would be even further down in the table. Other goal scorers in Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pépé have failed to impress this season, especially under former boss, Unai Emery. The London club currently sit ninth but are closer to fourteenth than fourth by some margin. Although this makes grim viewing for an Arsenal fan, things are not all bad.

Since Mikel Arteta’s appointment at the Emirates, things have started to look up, and even more so recently. The Gunners are unbeaten in domestic football this calendar year and have boosted themselves up three places. The North London team ended the season with a loss, but came back strong, beating an in-form Manchester United side 2-0. Despite these positives, there is quite a big negative almost certainly on course to hit them this summer.

Clubs Queueing up for Aubameyang

Aubameyang looks very likely to leave the club in the summer. Big teams like Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan reportedly want the Gabonese striker, with United the latest to enter the race.

The Red Devils, who are looking for a striker this summer, hope to attract him to Old Trafford this summer, with an offer of £50m reportedly heading Arsenal’s way in the near future. Should they acquire Arsenal’s star striker, he would fit perfectly with their fast-paced, counter-attacking style of play, and could prove a bargain with Arsenal afraid to lose him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.
