Kevin Nolan Returns to West Ham

The 37-year-old is returning to the club where he made 157 appearances across a four-year spell.

Nolan saw success during that time, helping the Hammers win the Championship play-offs in 2012.

Since retiring, he has entered management; however, he has been out of work since August 2018 after being sacked by Notts County.

The former midfielder is joined by Paul Nevin at the London Stadium. A highly-regarded coach, he has more than 20 years of experience under his belt.

Most recently, he was first-team coach at Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he was also part of Gareth Southgate’s staff that travelled to the UEFA Nations League.

Before that, however, Nevin had also worked for Fulham and Norwich City in various roles.

What Was Said

Speaking about the new additions to the official West Ham United website, manager David Moyes said: “We welcome Kevin and Paul to the Club and look forward to working with them. Both have a wealth of experience in the game and I’m sure they will make a very positive contribution between now and the end of the season.

“Kevin obviously knows the Club very well having played here previously, while Paul’s coaching pedigree is excellent. It has taken some time to finalise the coaching staff, but I wanted to make sure I brought in the right people to help us, and both Kevin and Paul are fantastic additions. They will get working right away and we are all completely focused on the job we need to do in the coming weeks and months.”

David Moyes’ side are currently 18th in the Premier League and travel to Manchester City in their next game.
