Christian Eriksen: His Journey So far

Eriksen is a product of Ajax’s famous youth production, making his first-team debut in 2010. He became a more crucial part of the Dutch side in the coming seasons, making 162 appearances in total for them, winning 3 Dutch Eredivisie titles on the way. Eriksen made the move to north London in 2013, signing with Tottenham Hotspur for £11 million. On an individual level, Eriksen went on to win three consecutive Danish footballer of the year awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He won Tottenham’s player of the year award in his first season. Though without many trophies during his time with Spurs, he was part of the runners-up side of 2017. In 2017-18, he was part of the PFA Team of the Year. He leaves the Champion’s League runners-up after making 223 Premier League appearances.

Regarding the international side, Eriksen received his first call-up in February 2010. After making his first appearance in March of that year, he became Denmark’s fourth youngest ever player, and their youngest debutant since Michael Laudrup.

How Will Inter Benefit?

Eriksen is a midfielder of undoubted quality, that would fit into almost every side on the planet. He has the ability to unlock defences with his pinpoint passing. The Dane is a quintessential number ten and needs to occupy the space behind the striker to flourish. Not the quickest player himself, he relies on his mastery of the ball and passing ability to outsmart opponents. Though not one to try and grab the headlines, he is always crucial to any attack. While players like Harry Kane or Lucas Moura are often at the forefront, Eriksen is normally pulling the strings.
