Another pulsating round of Ligue 1 matches has come to an end, with plenty of talking points and exciting action. Paris Saint Germain extended their lead at the top to ten points after they won and Marseille drew. Bordeaux completed the double over Nantes in the Atlantique Derby. There were also crucial wins for Montpellier, Strasbourg, Metz, Brest, Saint Etienne and Lyon.

Ludovic Ajorque the Star as Strasbourg Beat Monaco
Strasbourg collected a fourth win in five as they comfortably beat Monaco at the Principality stadium. Ludovic Ajorque was the star as Strasbourg’s excellent league form continue.
The striker opened scoring latching onto Kevin Zohi’s cross. He was a menace all game for Monaco and certainly, his performance was excellent throughout. His goal takes onto to eight league goals this season. The striker has eight goals in 18 league games for high flying Strasbourg.
Monaco’s struggles continue with new manager Roberto Moreno winless in his opening three league games in charge. His side were ripped apart all night by a vibrant Strasbourg side. The pressure is already increasing on him just a few weeks into the job.
Strasbourg are enjoying their best run of the season collecting a seventh win in eleven league games. They climb into 8th place and are very much in the race for European football. Monaco drop to thirteenth after a run of one win in five games.
Metz Secure Back to Back League Wins Thanks to Star Man Habib Diallo
Metz’ terrific start to 2020 continued as they secured a priceless away win at Reims. Their star man Habib Diallo scored the only goal as Metz secured back to back wins for the first time this season.
In a tight contest between two largely defensive sides, Metz found the crucial breakthrough. Their star striker headed in after just three minutes. He latched onto Fabio Centonze’s excellent cross. That was his eleventh goal of the season as he continues to spearhead Metz’ survival charge. Metz are now four unbeaten and slowly putting a good run together.
A disappointing result for Reims who cannot score goals. Their winless run stretches to four games. They need to find a consistent goal scorer with only Boulaye Dia and the departed Remi Oudin scoring more than two league goals.
Metz climb to 16th and more importantly pull five points clear off the relegation zone. Reims drop into the bottom half as a result of that defeat.
