League Two leaders Swindon Town have made their second January signing. The Robins have signed Huddersfield Town defender Rarmani Edmonds-Green on loan for the rest of the season.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green Joins Swindon

Swindon announced via their website they had signed the young Huddersfield defender. Edmonds-Green arrives on loan until the end of the season.

The defender spent the first half of the season at National League side Bromley. However, Huddersfield recalled him in December and played in two of their three wins.

What Was Said

Speaking about his new signing, Swindon manager Richie Wellens said “Rarmani will an important addition for us because of the number of different positions he can play. He’s athletic and will suit our style of play.”

“He’s played at a good level for his age in a strong National League side and is another player that we’ll look to improve and develop.”

Huddersfield Confirm Edmonds-Green’s Temporary Departure

Speaking to the Huddersfield website, Terriers manager Danny Cowley said, “This is a really good opportunity for Rarmani.”

“From a selfish point of view, we wanted to keep him close. He’s a great kid, a great trainer and is really good around the place.”

“We had to put the future first and you have to take a long-term view whenever possible, which is why we’ve sent him out on loan.”

“This is a great step for him. Swindon are fighting at the top of League 2 and it’ll be a fantastic experience.”

“The loan will then provide us with clarity in the summer of what his next stepping stone is.”

Edmonds-Green Adds an Option Defensively for Swindon

Swindon are flying high at the top of League Two. Richie Wellens will continue to ensure his side stays there over the next few weeks of the window.

Edmonds-Green is an excellent addition and certainly provides a good option at the back. His athleticism and tenacious play could be a crucial cog in the Swindon team in the coming months.

Game time and development will be Edmonds-Green’s aim. He will hope to play a key role in Swindon’s promotion charge.
