The Central Midfielder Brings Pace and Dynamism to the Pilgrims Team

Bakinson is used to League two having spent last season with Newport County and almost helped them get promoted to League One.

He will be hoping to go one better with Pilgrims this time around.

Bakinson’s arrival continues Plymouth’s excellent relationship with Bristol City with many of their players spending time at Home Park.

The young midfielder brings pace and passing quality to the Plymouth midfield.

Bakinson was excellent at Newport and he will be hoping to bring that momentum to the promotion hunters.

Ryan Lowe has regularly used a back three at Plymouth. The Argyle boss relies on the creativity and dynamism of his central midfielders.

Antoni Sarcevic has excelled under Lowe and certainly, Bakinson can do the same should he make a positive impression on the Plymouth manager.

Lowe rates the Bristol City loanee, saying: “We’ve earmarked Tyreeq from last season. He played against us; Schuey’s earmarked him and looked at him closely, same as me; we’ve done the homework on him; we spoke to Bristol City and [manager] Lee Johnson; and his agent. This has been going on for months.

“Tyreeq finally came in for a few days over the past few weeks to train with us to get a feel for us and we get a feel for him.”

Bakinson Could Play A Significant Role in Plymouth’s Promotion Charge

Plymouth are looking to secure an instant return to League One following their dreadful 2018/19 campaign. Ryan Lowe has rebuilt over the summer and will be adding to his squad in January to continue the good work already done. The Pilgrims are very much in the promotion race and Bakinson could play a big part during the second half of the season.

Plymouth have lacked options in the middle of the park and certainly, Lowe has quickly added Bakinson to give Plymouth another body. Bakinson reads the game well and can pick a pass. Two key attributes which Ryan Lowe needs to play his style of football.

Bakinson could make his debut this weekend when Plymouth travel to Glanford Park to face Scunthorpe United.
