Looking For Experience

Watt, 19, has made one first-team appearance for Wolves; he started a League Cup win against Sheffield Wednesday last term.

The teenage midfielder is yet to appear under Nuno Espirito Santo this season; however, he played for Wolves in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe.

Watt was ineligible to be selected in Wednesday’s League Two fixture at Crewe Alexandra; he watched over the Blues as they were beaten 4-1.

However, he could make his debut at Cardiff City in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

The move to Carlisle should allow Watt to test himself and gain minutes as he looks to move up the pecking order at Molineux.

Speaking in September about his chances of playing for Wolves, Watt said: “I’d be delighted to be involved in the first team games but at the same time you’ve got to realise the players that are in front of you.

“Every lad at this club’s dream is to play in the Wolves first team and in the Champions League, as that’s where they’re heading almost.

“If it’s not here then maybe somewhere else on loan.

“In the future, I want to play regular first-team football. Short term, my aim is to try and force my way into the first team.”

The 19-year-old also admitted that he is thriving in the 5-3-2 formation dispatched at both first-team and under-23 level.

“I really enjoy it,” he said. “I can see everything in front of me and I can get play started from deep with my longer passing.

“I watch the first team players like Neves and learn from them and how they do it. There’s no better players to learn from.”
