Premier League Interest

The Bees midfielder has netted three goals and provided five assists this season.

His impressive performances have led to speculation of a move away from Griffin Park this January.

Villa were interested in the Algerian midfielder before the season started; there were rumours that a bid had been submitted by Dean Smith’s side.

Benrahma’s form has not been limited to just this season.

The Algerian scored ten goals and contributed 14 assists across last campaign.

Benrahma made yet another eye-catching performance on Saturday against table-toppers West Brom.

The 24-year-old helped the Bees hold the Baggies to a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns.

It has also been reported in the print edition of the Sunday Times (via Football League World) that Jos Mourinho’s Tottenham are interested in Benrahma.

Future Decision

Brentford are currently sixth in the Sky Bet Championship – performing well under Danish boss Thomas Frank.

With the Bees’ making a stand for promotion, Benrahma is reportedly keen to stay with Brentford until the season’s conclusion.

The claim is made by the Telegraph who believe the 24-year-old will instead likely assess his options in the summer.

This would be a blow to Aston Villa, with the Villans said to still be interested in the midfielder.

With the Midlands side currently in the Premier League drop-zone, they will be looking to make reinforcements in January.

News of him looking to stay with the Bees will be disappointing from a Villa perspective; however, it is great news for Brentford with the Algerian regarded by some as one of the most exciting players in the second-tier.
