Everton Set to Confirm Appointment of Carlo Ancelotti

Experienced Manager

Carlo Ancelotti is a vastly experienced manager. As a result, he became Everton’s number one target after the sacking of Marco Silva.

The Italian began his managerial career in Italy. He managed Reggiana, Parma and Juventus before spending eight successful years at AC Milan. Ancelotti won eight trophies in total with Milan, including two Champions League titles.

Following his stint at AC Milan, he then moved to the Premier League, where he was appointed the manager of Chelsea. Success continued to follow, as the 60-year-old won the double during his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge. However, he was sacked at the end of his second season in charge.

Ancelotti then spent the next six years managing some of Europe’s top clubs. He had two-year stints at both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, before a spell at Bayern Munich that lasted just over a year. He was successful at all three clubs and won two out of three retrospective league titles.

Carlo Ancelotti is a Major Coup for Everton

Carlo Ancelotti is an impressive appointment for Everton. It signals a major statement of intent from the hierarchy at Goodison Park, and that the Italian is not put off by their current league position.

The Toffees currently lie in 16th place in the Premier League, just three points above the relegation zone. Caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson has helped boost their position, collecting four points from his two games in charge. As a result, Ancelotti may have been put off by this and may have waited for a chance with a top-half club.
