The good news just keeps on coming for Liverpool. Following the announcement of Jurgen Klopp’s new deal, Liverpool also confirmed that James Milner had also signed a new deal. Liverpool’s ‘Mr Dependable’ has been outstanding since joining the club and is only getting better in his older years.

Liverpool announced via their Twitter account that James Milner had signed a new deal until June 2022. The England midfielder’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season. The club has acted quickly to tie down the versatile midfielder. He is loving life at Anfield and is only getting better.

His game time has been restricted somewhat with Liverpool’s amazing form. However, he is always a player Jurgen Klopp can rely on when needed. He has generally converted to a central midfielder in the latter years of his career but has also been used at left-back. Milner has been an outstanding servant for the club and has captained the side on several occasions. He embodies exactly what Jurgen Klopp wants from his team. His spirit, endeavour and attitude is nothing that can never be questioned. The England midfielder is a vital cog to Liverpool’s team.

A New Deal Fully Deserved

The arrival of James Milner at the club was certainly one of the best free transfers in the Premier League era. He has been an outstanding addition to a Liverpool team that has only got better since his arrival. His experience is vital to the young players in the team and he is very much a leader.

Jurgen Klopp will be delighted to tie down the midfielder with several clubs sniffing around. Liverpool will be delighted he has committed his future to the club. A new deal thoroughly deserved as Liverpool edge closer to a first league title in the Premier League era. No doubt Milner will continue to be a vital figure as the season progresses.
