Naby Keita has struggled for Liverpool since arriving in July 2018. Stiff competition and injuries have halted his progress. However, the Guinea midfielder is really starting to show his worth to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Keita was outstanding in Salzburg as Liverpool progressed into the knockout stages of the Champions League. His excellent goal rounded off an industrious, tenacious performance in the heart of the Liverpool midfield. Fabinho’s injury and Liverpool’s hectic fixture list has finally given the former RB Leipzig midfielder the game time he has been craving.

He drove Liverpool forward against Salzburg and fully deserved his goal. Keita has only really shown his abilities in glimpses but his recent run in the team has shown how good he can be. Liverpool paid big money for the midfielder and slowly but surely, he is beginning to blossom in a Liverpool shirt.

Naby Keita Will Be Determined to Keep His Place in the Liverpool Team

Now that he has established himself in the Liverpool team, Naby Keita will be determined to keep his place. He has firmly repaid Jurgen Klopp’s faith in him. Liverpool’s frantic finish to 2019 will allow Keita to further show his credentials and given the time, he will be determined to become the main name on Liverpool’s team sheet.

We have seen moving to a new country can be difficult. It’s a culture change and a new environment for players and it takes plenty of time for players to settle. Keita has endured a difficult spell with injuries and loss of form. However, he is finally settled in England and is firmly showing his worth to the Liverpool team.
