January Transfer To Spurs

The 38-year-old is looking for a new challenge after recently ending a two-year spell with LA Galaxy.

Following his spell in America, Ibrahimovic has suggested he would prefer a move to Spain – where he previously played for Barcelona.

Despite this, reports at home and overseas claim that Mourinho could look to reunite with Ibra.

According to Italian outlet La Repubblica (via Sport Witness) the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss “has called Zlatan to convince him to return to the Premier League.”

Previous Working Relationship

It has been suggested that Mourinho views Ibrahimovic as the perfect player to provide vital cover for Harry Kane.

The England forward is Spurs’ only viable option in attack following Fernando Llorente‘s departure this summer.

The duo worked together at Italian giants Inter Milan before a reunion at Manchester United in 2016.

Ibrahimovic’s time at Old Trafford proved relatively successful with 29 goals in 53 appearances; a serious knee injury preceded his departure in March 2018.

However, other reports claim that the Swede is close to completing a return to Italy with AC Milan.

Spurs could still make an approach; however, it is claimed Daniel Levy’s strict control of the budget could be a stumbling block when facing Ibrahimovic’s wage demands.
