Arsenal Loan Watch: Eddie Nketiah on Target Again for Leeds United

Arsenal Loan Watch

Arsenal currently have seven players spending the season away from the Emirates. Just how are they getting along? Here is the latest installment of our Arsenal loan watch series.

Arsenal Loan Watch: Nketiah Scores Again For Leeds

Eddie Nketiah

We start the Arsenal loan watch with a player who has been in the news lately. Eddie Nketiah has yet to start in the Championship for Leeds United, leading to speculation over his loan deal.

The Gunners may decide to recall the player in January and loan him to another club to get the minutes Arsenal feel he needs. However, in his ninth league appearance, Eddie Nketiah scored again for his loan club; a late equalizer against Preston North End on Tuesday.

That makes it three goals in 220 minutes played in the Championship this season for Nketiah. Perhaps his average of one goal each 73 minutes played will convince Marcelo Bielsa to give him more minutes and keep him at the club for the duration of the loan.

William Saliba

On Sunday, William Saliba helped Saint-Etienne to a 1-0 win away against a familiar face, at least to Arsenal supporters. The on-loan Gunner beat former club captain Laurent Koscielny, currently playing for Bordeaux.

Saliba played the entire 90 minutes with the winning goal coming in second-half stoppage time. The centre-back continues to be a keystone in Claude Puel’s side this season.

Mohamed Elneny

The Egyptian is spending the season on loan with Besiktas and played 82 minutes on Saturday. However, Elneny saw his side slip to a 0-0 draw against Ankaragucu away from home.

Ben Sheaf

Ben Sheaf helped Doncaster Rovers to a thumping win over Southend United on Tuesday. The on-loan Arsenal man bagged the second and decisive goal of the thrilling 7-1 victory which saw the away side reduced to nine men.

Deyan Iliev

The goalkeeper played the full 90 as his loan club, Sered, beat Spartak Trnava 2-1. The only goal allowed came in the 78th minute with the home side already two goals ahead.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan & Jordi Osei-Tutu

The Armenian international was not involved in AS Roma’s 0-0 draw with Sampdoria over the weekend. Meanwhile, Osei-Tutu sat on the bench for the entirety of Bochum’s 3-3 home draw against Karlsruhe.
