Fantasy Premier League

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek Eight is here with an International break looming large on the horizon. Every FPL manager would like to go into that break with a good score. Let’s read on to find out how to do that.

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek Eight Picks

Goalkeepers

Nick Pope (£4.6) has a good chance to keep a clean sheet this week against Everton. The Toffees are in really poor form with three losses in a row. Unfortunately, they have another tough game this week. Their attacking players are struggling for form as well which bodes well for Pope.

Roberto (£4.4) could be a cheap option as Lukasz Fabianski is out for a while. West Ham United have a decent home fixture against Crystal Palace.

David De Gea (£5.6) has a good chance to keep a clean sheet this week as well. Newcastle United have not managed to score in their last two matches. However, it is difficult to trust Manchester United these days.

Defenders

Everyone’s favourite filler John Lundstram (£4.5) has been quite impressive this season. He is currently the third-highest scoring defender in Fantasy Premier League. FPL managers hardly ever start him but this could be a good opportunity to do so against struggling Watford. Bottom of the table hornets will be desperate for the three points though

Erik Pieters (£4.8) has been quite solid in terms of his FPL points output this season. A home game against Everton provides him with the opportunity to add to that.

Harry Maguire (£5.5) could have a big game at Newcastle United. If he gets a clean sheet, there is a huge potential for bonus points.

Aaron Cresswell (£4.9) has scored two great goals in his last two matches. Can he deliver again?

Midfielders

With Kevin De Bruyne out, there is a slight worry about Manchester City’s attacking threat this week. Bernardo Silva may miss out as well which makes Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Riyad Mahrez almost certain to start this game. All of them are good picks.

Mohamed Salah (£12.5) and Sadio Mané (£11.6) should not be ignored despite having a tricky fixture against Leicester City.

Todd Cantwell (£4.6) is a popular pick with over 27% ownership. This week he has the opportunity to impress against Aston Villa at home. However, there were some rumours about an injury to him. Keep an eye on the team news. Another player who has been overlooked a bit is Emiliano Buendía. He could also have a good game.

Bukayo Saka could be a cheeky punt. The young gunner has been impressive in the last couple of weeks and should get another chance to shine. He also did not feature in the midweek Europa League match which is a positive.

Strikers

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0) has scored in all but one game this season. He is a lethal finisher and it is expected that the Gabonese will do well this week against the Cherries.

The Pukki party could be back on as Teemu Pukki takes on the Villans. This is an ideal game for Pukki and Norwich City need him to score.

Struggling Everton face a tough trip to Turf Moor this week. Chris Wood has scored in back to back games now and as was mentioned in last week’s preview, the New Zealander was on a similar scoring run last season. He is still available at a really low price.

Tammy Abraham, Callum Wilson, Sebastien Haller and Gabriel Jesus are also worth considering this week. As Sergio Agüero played almost the whole match in midweek, the Brazillian could get a start.
