Arsenal Loan Watch

Another weekend of football is nearly over across Europe. That means Arsenal‘s four players out on loan have gotten another week under their belts as they try to help their temporary clubs as best they can. How did they get along? Here is your Arsenal loan watch.

Arsenal Loan Watch: Mkhitaryan Assists Winner for Roma

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

AS Roma traveled to Lecce on Sunday expecting three points. Although they got their reward in the end, the newly-promoted side put in an admirable performance. They allowed just the one goal, scored by Edin Dzeko.

Following a failed corner routine, Roma managed to hold possession just outside the box and Mkhitaryan got on the end of a pass. From the right flank he floated a perfectly-weighted ball onto the head of his striker.

The Armenian now has one goal and one assist in four matches for Roma.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah has really impressed already this season already for Leeds United. In just 89 minutes of league football the striker scored two and provided one assist going into the weekend’s match against Charlton Athletic.

He was again named on the bench for the game but got an opportunity to come on in the 46th minute with his loan club down by a single goal. However, Eddie Nketiah was unable to find the back of the net.

He had two shots, neither of which found the target, and one key pass on the day.

William Saliba

The centre-back only made the bench for Saint-Etienne as they faced Nimes in Ligue 1. William Saliba did come on in the 89th minute to solidify his side’s defence as they were up a goal but down a man.

Saliba helped keep Nimes off the scoresheet to take the points by 1-0. The goal was scored by former Gunner Mathieu Debuchy.

Mohamed Elneny

The Egyptian midfielder is still serving his three-match domestic suspension for seeing a straight red card on his debut for Besiktas.
