In the latest edition of Last Word On Football's transfer rumours, it looks like the Neymar deal is finally dead, despite Barcelona's efforts.

The Neymar transfer rumours just keep on coming.  There are only four days left in the European Transfer Window, and Neymar still plays for Paris St. Germain.  But in the last few days, PSG has ramped up their pursuit of other targets, leading some to believe Neymar could still be sold before the deadline.

Transfer Rumours: Barcelona and PSG

Neymar Transfer Rumours

Barcelona has spent the entire summer trying to come up with a deal that would bring Neymar back.  They tried offering a cash deal, they were hoping to include Philippe Coutinho in a deal before his move to Bayern.  They even felt out the idea of a convoluted Antoine Griezmann for Neymar swap.

However, PSG has had their sights on two or three specific players all along.  They wanted Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele, or Jean-Clair Todibo.  The problem with that is that none of those players wanted to go to PSG, with Dembele’s agent even publicly denying it.

After all of that, it does not seem like Neymar will be going to Barcelona.  According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan board has practically ruled out signing the Brazilian.  Unless something changes it looks like Barcelona’s business for the summer is over.

PSG signing Keylor Navas

News in MARCA yesterday reported that Keylor Navas was on the verge of signing for PSG.  The Costa Rican keeper has been out of favour at Real Madrid since the arrival of Belgian keeper Thibault Courtois. But that is not all this transfer rumour has to say.

The deal could be completed for either just €15 million or a swap deal with current PSG keeper Alphonse Areola.  MARCA reported yesterday that personal terms had already been agreed to with the French international.  But a deal is going to have to wait until after the weekend.

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel has already said Areola will be his starting keeper when they face Metz on Friday.  After that game, there will be three days left until the end of the European window, plenty of time to get this deal done.
