Aston Villa Agree Fee For Anwar El Ghazi

A Permanent Move to Villa Park

The Villans returned to the top flight for the first time since their relegation in 2016 after beating Derby County in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

Anwar El Ghazi netted on Villa’s second Wembley appearance in as many seasons; John McGinn doubled the Midlands side’s lead in the second half.

24-year-old El Ghazi spent last season on loan and Villa had the option to turn the move permanent this summer.

Reports in Holland suggest that the deal is complete, an announcement to confirm a €9 million fee is expected.

Speaking after playing a huge helping hand in Villa’s promotion, El Ghazi said: “I have really enjoyed it here and I love the club, and the fans.

“I have to talk with my agent now. This club is amazing and I will be very happy if I can stay here.

“But we have to figure it out first with Lille and I hope everything goes well so that I can stay here.”

Throughout his time with the Villans, El Ghazi netted six times and is seen as a player who can continue to develop.

BirminghamLive have also confirmed that Villa will sign Kortney Hause for £3million. The defender is another loan star who has had their move turned permanent.

Jota became the club’s first summer signing when he completed a move from Second City rivals Birmingham. Meanwhile, Cardiff City’s Neil Etheridge is a keen target for Dean Smith.

According to WalesOnline, the Villans recently had an £8 million bid rejected. However, the 29-year-old remains a target having played under Smith and goalkeeper coach Neil Cutler at Walsall.
