Bartosz Bialkowski Linked to Three Championship Clubs

Bartosz Bialkowski is a summer target for three Sky Bet Championship clubs, according to Andy Warren of the East Anglian Daily Times.

Championship Clubs Chase Signature of Bartosz Bialkowski

Bartosz Bialkowski, 31, made 30 appearances during Ipswich Town’s relegation from the second-tier.

Having won the club’s Player of the Year award for the three previous campaigns, Bialkowski was unable to reach his former high standards.

Reports in the East Anglian Daily Times say that a trio of unnamed Championship clubs chase the 31-year-old’s signature. The goalkeeper is a highly sought after target, but no formal offers have been made.

Bialkowski has made 178 appearances in a Town spell lasting five years. The Pole moved to Ipswich from Notts County; however, boss Paul Lambert would be open to selling the goalkeeper for an appropriate fee.

“Well first of all people have got to want to buy our players. And if you think people are going to go out of here on the cheap – no chance. I won’t allow it to happen,” Lambert said to the East Anglian Daily Times.

“Whoever comes in has to be better than the ones that go. That’s key.”

The Polish international’s form last term saw the shot-stopper included in their World Cup squad last summer. Bialkowski then returned to Ipswich to sign a new deal after a £2.75 million offer from Birmingham was rejected.

Bialkowski and Dean Gerken are the only two senior shot-stoppers at Portman Road; however, the five-year partnership is likely to change this summer.

Gerken is one of a number of players Town could lose for free this summer. The goalkeeper is out of contract this summer and could leave after a six-year spell in Suffolk after signing from Bristol City in 2013.

Ipswich Town are set to announce their retained list later this week.
