Latest on Jarrod Bowen, Hooper, Shankland and Noble

Leicester Eye Jarrod Bowen

Leicester City are weighing up a bid for Hull’s Jarrod Bowen, writes Tom Leach of Leicestershire Live. The winger has been one of the stars of the Championship this season, scoring 22 goals. Bowen is interesting several clubs and Leicester could soon be the first to make a move.

Hull will not be letting Bowen leave cheaply. Leicester are reportedly weighing up a £15 million bid for the 22-year-old. Whether this would be enough to tempt Hull remains to be seen. Cardiff City failed in a £12 million bid, therefore £15 million could be only where the bidding begins.

Villa to Move for Hooper?

Birmingham Live are linking Aston Villa with a move for striker Gary Hooper. The former Celtic forward is being released by Sheffield Wednesday this summer after an injury-filled season. However, Villa are just one of the clubs looking at the prolific hitman.

Hooper is also being chased by his former club Celtic. The striker scored 82 goals in 138 games between 2010-2014 at Parkhead. Fulham are also reportedly interested. Should Villa secure a place in the Premier League via the play-offs, a deal is much more likely. If not, the likes of Celtic could become favourites.

34-Goal Striker Sunderland Bound?

Sunderland are being linked with a move for Ayr United’s prolific striker Lawrence Shankland, according to The Chronicle. Shankland has fired Ayr to the brink of the Scottish Premiership, scoring 34 goals in 39 games. He is available on a free transfer this summer with his club admitting that it will be almost impossible to keep him.

Sunderland were linked with Shankland in January before signing Will Grigg. It is likely boss Jack Ross will look to bolster his attacking options this summer and the 23-year-old fellow Scot could fit the bill. The Black Cats may have to act fast as Celtic and Swansea are also reportedly monitoring the situation.

Carlisle Chase Goalscoring Midfielder

The Hartlepool Mail are reporting that the club could lose 13-goal midfielder Liam Noble. Carlisle United are weighing up a move for the former Sunderland trainee. Noble signed for Hartlepool last summer from Notts County and has impressed during his first season.

Noble’s contract, however, is up this summer and it is uncertain whether Hartlepool can offer a new deal. Several clubs are interested, but it appears that Carlisle are at the front of the queue to sign their former midfielder.
