Latest On Timo Werner, Isco, Ozil, Moses and Aouer

Moses Return to Palace

After playing a key role under Antonio Conte, Victor Moses has not been a part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Chelsea. With only two league appearances this season, Moses seems likely to move in January. Leading the race for the winger are his former side, Crystal Palace. Moses came through the Palace academy, spending nine years with the club. Competition may come from Wolves and West Ham but Palace are confident of getting their man.

Werner to Bolster Liverpool Attack?

Reports in Germany suggest that Liverpool lead the race for highly-coveted Timo Werner. The Leipzig striker had been expected to join Bayern Munich but is now said to prefer a move to Anfield. Due to Werner only having 18 months left on his contract, the fee Leipzig demand is limited. Liverpool have a history of dealing with Leipzig, having agreed a deal for Naby Keita this time last year. Werner would be a lethal addition to Liverpool’s already strong attack. With ten goals this season, Werner’s pace and quality could be the final piece to a successful title charge.

Aouer Wanted by Guardiola

Manchester City have turned their attention to Lyon’s Houssem Aouer. The 20-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho. Ajax’s Frenkie De Jong had been City’s primary target, but intense interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have forced the club to reconsider. Aouer, a France U21 international, impressed against City in the Champions League this season. However, Aouer’s contract runs until 2023; consequently, Lyon are well positioned to demand a large fee.

Ozil Out, Isco In?

Mesut Ozil could leave Arsenal, with reports claiming he is being shopped around. Ozil, Arsenal’s top earner, has not started the last two games. Unai Emery spoke this week about picking players irrespective of salary and appeared to call for more commitment from Ozil.

Should Arsenal manage to offload him, the funds would likely be reinvested. A touted replacement is Real Madrid’s Isco. The Spain international has struggled throughout his Madrid career to secure a regular starting position. With Spain boss Luis Enrique admitting Isco needs to be playing more to keep his international career alive, a move could be on the cards. Arsenal would likely face competition from Chelsea. Due to Ozil’s high wages, a sale may be necessary before a move can be made.

One option being reported today is a possible swap for Ozil and Isco. However, whether Madrid are willing to take a 30-year-old Ozil back could be the stumbling block to a trade deal.
