Chelsea Transfer News: Pulisic, Hysaj, Ake and More

Chelsea transfer news

As the January transfer window edges closer, rumours are spreading to send fans into a frenzy. Chelsea are never out of the spotlight with regards to transfer speculation, and this week has been no different. Here is all the latest Chelsea transfer news from Last Word on Football.

Chelsea Transfer News: Pulisic, Hysaj, Ake and More

Christian Pulisic

The 20-year-old American was one of a few plus points during the United States’ 3-0 defeat to England. Pulisic has made his name in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

It had come as no surprise he has captured the attention of clubs across Europe. A Daily Mail exclusive has claimed The Blues have won the race for his signature. Pulisic is capable of playing in an attacking midfielder role, or as a winger.

His dribbling ability and pace would be an asset. The likelihood is he would compete with Willian, Pedro and Hazard for a spot in the starting line-up.

Nathan Ake

The young Dutchman has been in excellent form since he left Stamford Bridge in a £20m move during the summer of 2017.

Rumours at the time suggested Chelsea had a buyback clause inserted into the deal. Although this has never been confirmed, Chelsea are now set to attempt to bring the 23-year-old back to west London.

The Sunday Express are reporting Chelsea will test Bournemouth with a £40 million bid. Ake has certainly matured during his time with The Cherries. His versatility would make him an excellent addition to Maurizio Sarri’s squad.

Elseid Hysaj

Napoli right-back Hysaj has found first-team opportunities difficult this season. The Albanian international was a regular under Maurizio Sarri, and a reunion is on the cards according to a report in The Sun.

The players’ agent Marco Giuffredi has sparked speculation following comments made to Radio CRC:

“Hysaj is a player who can do well in English football, given he’s very physical and being watched by big clubs.

“Is he worth €50 million? He’s worth €60 million for me”

The fee looks steep, but if Sarri really believes in him, there’s no reason this deal can’t happen.

Alex Sandro

Links to the Brazilian have continued for the past transfer windows. Yet, he has remained at Juventus with no sign of him wanting to leave. Now calciomercato.com have reignited the rumour, stating that the former Porto man has only got 18-months left on his contract with The Old Lady.

Juventus will be keen to hold onto Sandro, but if ever there was a chance of Chelsea signing him, either January or next summer would be a great opportunity considering his contract situation.

Emerson

Chelsea already have an Emerson on their books, and this one is also a full-back. However, Emerson Aparecido Leite de Souza Junior is a 19-year-old right-back who plays for Atletico Mineiro. O Tempo are reporting The Blues and Arsenal are both keen to secure the services of the young Brazilian.

A Move Away From Chelsea

As players are rumoured to be incoming, there are also departures. Gary Cahill looks the most likely to leave Stamford Bridge. Having won everything during his time at Chelsea, the former England centre-back is a wanted man. Both Manchester United and AC Milan are interested in the 32-year-old, according to The Express.

United had appeared favourites with a Jose Mourinho reunion on the cards, but Milan are experiencing an injury crisis. The chance of first-team football could give the Italians the upper hand on securing his signature.

There’s good news regarding N’Golo Kante. Despite being linked with a big-money move last summer, The Sun are claiming the Frenchman is due to sign a new long-term deal to stay at Stamford Bridge.
