Wolves have today completed the signing of the highly rated Belgian youngster Leander Dendoncker from R.S.C. Anderlecht. Wolves make Dendoncker their tenth signing of the summer. The 23-year-old joins on a season-long loan as Wolves beat fellow Premier League side West Ham to his signature. Dendoncker has been linked with some big teams over the last six months since seeing a move to West Ham collapse in January. It was believed that both Manchester United and Atletico Madrid sent scouts over to Belgium to watch the player.

Wealth of Experience
Despite only being 23-years-old, Dendoncker seems to have been around for some time. Since making his Anderlecht debut in 2013, he’s gone on to play for them a total of 171 times. He has won two Belgian Super Cups and a Belgian First Division A title and competed in the Champions League with them. Dendoncker has been capped six times for Belgium and was part of the 2018 World Cup squad, who ended up finishing the competition in third place. He made one appearance, which came against England.

Defensive Midfielder or Centre-Back
Standing at 6’2″, Leander Dendoncker’s solid defensive game has been key to his success in the Belgian league. Mostly being used as a defensive midfielder, he can also fill in as a centre-back. Nuno Espirito Santo has once again added to his squad with some fans thinking he could change his tactics to fit the midfielder into his squad. He will surely make the defensive side of Wolves game much stronger by sitting in the anchor position just behind Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves and slipping into defence when needed.
Belgian Golden Generation
Leander Dendoncker joins the Premier League as part of the Belgian golden generation. Other Belgian players from the golden generation have found success in the Premier League and Dendoncker will be looking to do the same. He will be looking to emulate the success of the likes of Mousa Dembele and Marouane Fellaini who play in the same position as Leander Dendoncker respectively.
