Football League Transfer News Including Sam Baldock and Sam Surridge

Baldock Makes Royals Move

Championship side Reading have completed the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion striker Sam Baldock. The former MK Dons, Bristol City and West Ham forward has signed a three-year deal at the Madejski Stadium for an undisclosed fee.

The drop down in division comes as no surprise as Baldock struggled to break into the team last year during their first Premier League campaign. The 29-year-old made just two appearances in the league, both as a substitute, and made little impact in the few minutes he played.

However, he is known as a deadly striker in the Championship and League One, having scored 34 times in 83 games for Bristol City at the two levels.

Ricardinho to Go Abroad

Despite interest from Birmingham, Wigan and Rotherham, Oxford United left-back Ricardinho is set to make the move to Dutch side FC Twente. The Brazilian spent just one season with the U’s and won their Player of the Year award, but alerted other teams of his availability throughout the summer.

His solitary season in England came with three goals and five assists in 39 appearances.

Baudry Arrives at Stadium MK

MK Dons have completed the signing of Doncaster Rovers defender Mathieu Baudry on a free transfer. The Frenchman, formerly of Bournemouth and Leyton Orient, becomes the Dons’ eighth signing of the summer and part of an overhaul by new manager Paul Tisdale.

The defender has experience of promotion from League Two, achieved with Doncaster, and he will be hoping to do this again as the Dons aim to get back to League One at the first time of trying.

Surridge Moves North to Oldham

Bournemouth striker Sam Surridge has completed a loan move to League Two side Oldham Athletic. The 20-year-old experienced League Two last season when on loan at Yeovil and he has also had spells with Weymouth and Poole Town.

After being spotted at the pre-season fixture with Preston over the weekend, it seems that Surridge will be in line to make his debut for the club in the season opener against MK Dons next Saturday.
