Fred, Skrtel, Seri, Pellegrini, and Rooney Transfer News

Fred

Latest reports surrounding Fred suggest a deal has been agreed for the midfielder to join Manchester United. The Brazilian was a former target of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. However, City have opted to pursue their interest in Napoli’s Jorginho instead.

Gianluca Di Marzio, a reputable journalist, reports that the fee agreed between Manchester United and Shakhtar Donetsk for Fred is €50 million. Fred will slot in alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in United’s midfield.

Skrtel

Martin Skrtel’s agent has ruled out a move to Rangers, he labelled it as “imposible”. Since the recent appointment of Steven Gerard as Rangers manager, the Glaswegians have been linked to several Liverpool players and former players. Skrtel has been linked to a reunion with former team mate Gerard.

However, Rangers do not have the funds to bring Skrtel to Soctland. Additionally, Fenerbahce would not want to part ways with Skrtel. As they strive for Champions League qualification, the former Liverpool player lies at the heart of their defence.

Seri

According to Sky sources, Jean Michael Seri remains a transfer target for Arsenal even after the appointment of Unai Emery. Should a club bid £35 million or more for the Nice midfielder, he will be allowed leave. The Ivorian would strengthen Arsenal’s midfield with the departure of Santi Cazorla. Jack Wilshere’s future remaining still uncertain.

Emery recently attempted to sign Seri whilst he was manager of Paris St-Germain. Hence the Ivorian being on the Spaniard’s radar. However, the possibility or breaching financial fair play prevented Seri moving to PSG.

Pellegrini

According to Sky Italia, another midfielder Arsenal are interesting in signing Lorenzo Pellegrini. The midfielder enjoyed a positive season with Roma by finishing third in Serie A and reaching a Champions League semi-final. Consequentially, the 21-year-old midfielder made 37 appearances and provided three goals.

Furthermore, the Italian has a £26 million release clause in his contract. Juventus are among the clubs interested in signing the promising midfielder.

Rooney

Wayne Rooney has touched down in America to begin talks over a potential move to DC United. The Everton player was spotted changing flights in Miami airport. Following an underwhelming return to his boyhood club, Rooney is thus looking at a move to Major League Soccer.

The 32-year-old has been playing consistently at the top since the tender age of 16. Consequentially, Rooney has a lot of mileage on the clock. Toward the end of his United career the changes in his body effected his performances. Unfortunately, because of the mileage, he was unable to rediscover himself at Everton. A move to a lower standard such as the MLS would benefit Rooney’s career.
