Salah defeated rivals such as Harry Kane, David de Gea and Kevin De Bruyne to win this illustrious title. This is thanks to his absolute scintillating campaign, which may be rewarded further with the golden boot. He currently has 31 goals and is looking to break the highest goal tally for a 38 game season.

This is a player that has really stood out this season. He is incredibly effective at scoring goals, but he is not merely a tap-in merchant. Instead, he has scored a wonderful variety of goals, usually through dynamic, lung-busting runs. But also he is able to get onto crosses with excellent finishing, including some decent volleyed finishes. His low centre of gravity and rapid speed terrorises defenders, who are left sprawling in his wake. It is not unusual to see four defenders within the same camera frame, lunging desperately to stop him. But, it isn’t enough. He squirms and wriggles through defences, with cutbacks and turns that bamboozle players. And, when he has had enough of that, he is capable of notching a couple of goals outside the box.

As the Champions League final approaches, Liverpool fans will be nervous. Will Klopp finally deliver on his woeful final record? If there’s any one player that is vital for this game, it is Salah. Finals can be horrifically tense, and it takes a star player to have the composure or the sheer audacity to do something special. Salah can set the tone for Liverpool, to help ease the pressure. Of course, this is not to say that he forms the one-man team of Liverpool FC, but rather that he provides an invaluable contribution to the club. He may well be able to score the goals to help lead his club to a glorious European moment.
