Preview: Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling – Don’t Miss The Signs (7/10/21)

International Princess Championship Match

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling returns to Ryogoku KFC Hall featuring the International Princess Championship on the line in the main event. Unfortunately due to Pom Harajuku testing positive for Covid19, herself as well as Miyu Yamashita and Yuki Aino, who were in close proximity to her, will not be featured on the show for safety reasons.   Let’s get into the card for TJPW Don’t Miss The Signs

Moka Miyamoto vs Yuki Arai

Yuki Arai makes an appearance on a smaller show, this is quite a surprise as she was contracted to only appear on the bigger shows while she still works with her idol group however this is good for Arai as it means that she will get more experience working matches. Her opponent Moka Miyamoto recently went to a time limit draw with Arisu Endo at their Inspiration show. Moka could easily get her first pinfall victory in this match against the less experienced Arai.

Nodoka Tenma vs Mahiro Kiryu

Tenma gets a rare singles match as she takes on Mahiro Kiryu. Tenma is typically a tag team wrestler alongside her sister Yuki Aino but her missing this show opens up Tenma to showcase what she can do when she is given the time for a singles match. Although she doesn’t pick up too many wins, Kiryu has had a lot of singles experience because of the ‘That’s J-PW’ show and has improved a lot. This match looks like it leans towards Tenma but it will be hard-hitting either way.

Haruna Neko and Kaya Toribami vs Suzume and Arisu Endo

A bird and a cat teaming up certainly calls for some interesting tag team moves or possibly some fantastic character work. Toribami has only had a handful of matches so far but she shows a few signs that this might not be her first time in the ring but she is always fun to watch. Suzume has also been doing fantastic work as a tag wrestler alongside Maiumi so to team up with someone with comparatively less experience should show how strong of a tag team wrestler she is. As all of these women are quite early on in their careers, it’s tough to say who could pick up the victory in this.

Tokyo Princess Cup Pre Battle Special 10 Woman Tag Match: Maki Itoh, Yuki Kamifuku, Nao Kakuta, Marika Kobashi, Mirai Maiumi vs Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe

TJPW’s Annual Princess Cup tournament is quickly approaching and with that comes the special pre-battle tag team match featuring the brightest stars in the entire company. Each one of these women will be looking to impress as solo wrestlers to get a good start when it comes to the tournament but that doesn’t mean fans won’t be treated to some tag action as well. There’s plenty of existing tag teams such as Nakajima/Misao, Tatsumi/Watanabe, and Itoh/Kamiyu so there’s something for everyone in this. There’s no way to call who could win this one.

International Princess Championship – Hikari Noa (c) vs Raku

International Princess Championship Match

Hikari defends her championship for the second time and it’s against none other than her Up Up Girls teammate and train enthusiast Raku. Hikari is having a great run in the first half of the year and every match she has had has been fun to watch and comes close to being some of the best on the card. Her challenger Raku earned this opportunity by pinning her at Itabashi Green Hall during a tag match and naturally demanded a title match. Already having chemistry as a team and idol group, there is no doubt these two will put on a great match worthy of the main event and will truly test Raku’s ability to move up to that next level that her teammates Miu and Hikari are already at. Although it’s more than likely that Hikari will win and continue this great reign that she is having. This is a must-watch for anyone who is a fan of the Up Up Girls.
