Bandido Wins Survival of the Fittest

Bandido has won Survival of the Fittest. The finals of the tournament took place at ROH TV #510. Flamita, Brian Johnson, Eli Isom, Chris Dickinson, Bandido, and Rhett Titus competed in a six-man elimination match to determine the winner. This is Bandido’s first Survival of the Fittest tournament victory. He last eliminated Isom to win the tournament.

Bandido will now go on to face ROH World Champion RUSH at Best in the World.  Best in the World will be the first ROH event to feature a live crowd since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bandido has never held the ROH World Title but is a former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion with Rey Horus and Flamita. Bandido qualified for the final by defeating Bateman at ROH TV #509.

Flamita, Brian Johnson, Eli Isom, Chris Dickinson, Bandido, and Rhett Titus earned their spots in the finals over the past few weeks. Qualifying matches took place on ROH television and ROH Week by Week. Rhett Titus was the only competitor to have competed in the tournament previously. Titus reached the finals once in 2010 but was eliminated by Claudio Castagnoli (AKA Cesaro) in the final match. None of the competitors in this year’s tournament had ever held the ROH World Championship before.

This year marks the first time Survival of the Fittest has been contested in 2018. Marty Scurll was the last winner of the tournament. He was unsuccessful in his attempt to win the ROH World Title. Bandido is looking to fare better at Best in the World and take the title from RUSH.
