The AEW World Tag Team Championship, as well as a long-time team’s partnership, was on the line tonight on AEW Dynamite. The Young Bucks, Matt and Nick Jackson, defended their titles against Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, collectively known as SCU. Over the past number of months, a story developed within SCU. Simply put, if they were to lose another standard tag team match, Daniels and Kazarian would disband. From there, SCU saw renewed success. However, it all came to an end on tonight’s show at the hands of their former friends, The Young Bucks.
As the showdown between SCU and The Young Bucks unfolded, it would soon become a literal bloody affair. An errant superkick from Nick Jackson busted Christopher Daniels opened, resulting in excessive blood loss. This temporarily took Daniels out of the match, resulting in Frankie Kazarian facing The Young Bucks on his own. Kazarian fought valiantly, though it was clear that the numbers game against the AEW World Tag Team Champions was not in his favor. Soon enough, The Young Bucks’ “Elite” allies, The Good Brothers and Brandon Cutler, would interfere. Nonetheless, Daniels and Kazarian fought on.

The match would reach its conclusion as The Young Bucks set their sights on a weakened Daniels. As Kazarian attempted to recover on the outside, Matt and Nick Jackson struck Daniels with the BTE Trigger. Unable to help his ally, Kazarian was forced to watch as The Young Bucks scored the pinfall victory over Daniels. In that moment, SCU was no more. Post-match, weariness and all, Daniels and Kazarian met in an emotional embrace.
The question remains: what does the future hold for Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian? There’s no denying that either man is ready to hang up the boots. Just recently, Kazarian had a great showing against Christian Cage in the latter’s first-ever AEW match. It’s fair to say that they will go their separate ways moving forward.
