Eddie Kingston Makes Surprise Return to AIW

Eddie Kingston is headed to SteelStacks Samckdown

Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) ran their event AIW Is This Something You Might Be Interested In? on April 30 as part of their return to running events with crowds in their home base of Cleveland, Ohio.  AEW star Eddie Kingston made a surprise return to AIW to take on Dominic Garrini much to the delight of the crowd who had not seen Kingston perform live in an AIW ring since December 2019.

For years AIW was one of the places giving Eddie Kingston regular work while he was grinding away on the independent scene.  From 2012 until 2019 it was one of the main places that Eddie Kingston appeared.  Due to Kingston’s European endeavors and COVID-19 he didn’t get to wrestle for AIW at all in 2020, the first year this had happened since 2010.  Since the last time Kingston wrestled in an AIW ring things have changed, Kingston is now a star on AEW Dynamite who has wrestled some of the best in the world on TNT and global PPVs.

Eddie Kingston has not forgotten his roots though, in a Tweet he sent out in February of 2021 he promised that when he could he would return to AIW when restrictions had eased.  Kingston fulfilled this promise on April 30 and got to return home for the first time in almost 16 months.
