Pure Championship Match: Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal has been dubbed “The Franchise” of Ring of Honor and for good reason. He is a two-time ROH world champion and holds the record for the most days as champion at 707 days. He is also a two-time ROH World Television Champion and holds the record for the longest reign with the title at 567 days. In addition, he is a former ROH Pure and world tag team champion. He is also recognized as the third Triple Crown and third Grand Slam champion in Ring of Honor history.

Lethal is looking to dethrone his Foundation stablemate, and current champion, Jonathan Gresham. This past October, Gresham won the Pure Tournament to capture the reinstated Pure Title. He has defended the title successfully against Flip Gordon, Joe Keys, and Dak Draper. Gresham is also a former Ring of Honor world tag team champion, with his opponent for ROH TV #500, Jay Lethal.

Mark Briscoe vs. Jay Briscoe

The main event of ROH TV #500 will feature two men who were part of the first-ever Ring of Honor event. The Era of Honor Begins took place in February of 2002 from the Murphy Recreation Center in Philadelphia. One of the early matchups on the card featured The Amazing Red defeating a young Jay Briscoe, with Mark Briscoe in his corner. Mark, who was 17 at the time, could not compete on the card due to labor regulations in Pennsylvania. The team would grow up in Ring of Honor, working with the company until 2004 and returning in 2006. They have stayed part of the roster since then. The brothers have held the ROH World Tag Team Championship 11 times for a combined 1,263 days, more than any other team in ROH history. They have also held the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship once with Bully Ray. Jay Briscoe has held the ROH World Championship twice.

Their last tag team match was a losing effort against Dragon Lee and Kenny King with the number one contendership for the tag titles on the line. Interference from Flip Gordon led to the Briscoes losing the match. Following the match, EC3 appeared, claiming that honor can be bought, and begged the question is honor is real? He turned his attention to Jay, claiming he is still one of the honorable and trustworthy people left in ROH. Jay would go on to beat Ec3 at 19th Anniversary, while Mark would fail to get revenge on Gordon during their match on the same show. Papa Briscoe has made it clear the brothers need to settle their differences before they tag again. The brothers plan to do just that, at ROH TV #500.
