In the historic main event of WrestleMania 37 Night One, Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks to claim the SmackDown Women’s Championship just one year on from her main roster debut. Both women can lay claim to a milestone as they became the first two Black women to main event WrestleMania, another feather in the cap of Banks’ already legendary career and one of the first of many that Belair will gain throughout her career.

Bianca Belair won the Women’s Royal Rumble to set up this clash which many fans were excited for after Bayley selflessly put Belair over and elevated her to the top tier of the division. The build for the match has been marred by the presence of the women’s tag belts and Reginald the sommelier, but fans nevertheless stayed interested in this clash between two incredibly charismatic women.
Now that she’s at the top of the mountain the real challenge begins for Bianca Belair as we’re headed for Money In The Bank which could put a huge target on her back. Where she goes from here remains to be seen, although Bayley will no doubt look to avenge her loss in the near future.
