Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #88 – Best Bros vs. Sakura/Cherry (2/7/21)

ChocoPro 88

On the last episode of ChocoPro, fans saw an action-packed show, including a main event showdown that ended in a draw. Despite this, the match was one that kept viewers hooked every step of the way. Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling is set to keep the ball rolling with another weekend episode, featuring two promising singles encounter and a big tag team main event. Take a deep dive into the action to come on episode eighty-eight of ChocoPro.

Chie Koishikawa vs. Tokiko Kirihara

Starting off episode eighty-eight of ChocoPro will be a clash between two Gatoh Move rookies. On the previous episode, “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa took on Hagane Shinnou in the opening match. Despite coming up short against Gatoh Move’s ice-cold killer, Koishikawa stayed with him each step of the way, even earning his respect after. It may be this respect that gives her a leg up on her competition in the form of Tokiko Kirihara. The hard-hitting Showa Era enthusiast is nothing short of formidable, especially when considering that she has faced Koishikawa in the past. Their last singles match took place on episode seventy-six this past December, when Kirihara bested her younger adversary. Will history repeat itself or will it be the girl with “Endless Energy” that picks up the win?

Lulu Pencil vs. Trans Am Hiroshi

What does one get when the Pencil Army commanding officer goes one-on-one with a seasoned wrestler and yoga specialist? In the second singles match of this episode of ChocoPro, Lulu Pencil will battle Trans Am Hiroshi in what’s sure to be a unique encounter. In fact, this is a singles match over one year in the making; the last time they battled in singles action was in January of 2020, when Hiroshi picked up the win over Lulu Pencil.

Since then, however, Lulu Pencil has become more experienced, utilizing craftier maneuvers to keep her opponents on their toes. Meanwhile, Hiroshi has made sporadic appearances on ChocoPro throughout the past several months. His last was on episode sixty-seven this past November, securing a win over Yuna Mizumori. These days, his focus has been largely on the Pro Wrestling BASARA organization. Can Hiroshi return to ChocoPro with a win over the earnest Lulu Pencil?

Best Bros (Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki) vs. Emi Sakura and Cherry (ChocoPro Main Event)

For over one month, Best Bros have been the reigning Asia Dream Tag Team Champions of Gatoh Move. Together, Mei Suruga and Baliyan Akki continue to tear through the tag team picture in Gatoh Move, picking up wins across several ChocoPro episodes. Simply put, when they team up, they are nigh unstoppable. Suruga has been especially confident as of late, given that she was selected to take part in the upcoming AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament. However, she will have to set that aside for the moment; alongside Akki, she will face a tall challenge on this episode of ChocoPro.

Another competitor that was named for the tournament in question was Emi Sakura; longtime AEW fans will undoubtedly be familiar with her. In fact, many of those fans may not be aware that Sakura has been an accomplished trainer. Sakura built the likes of Suruga from the ground up. On this episode, she will battle her young protege and Akki alongside Cherry, who will be making her ChocoPro return on episode eighty-eight. As a veteran in her own right, Cherry has been a regular competitor for Ice Ribbon, even competing for the Triangle Ribbon Championship last month. Her last ChocoPro appearance was on episode seventy-five, back in December, when she teamed with Yuna Mizumori in a winning effort over Chie Koishikawa and Sayaka Obihiro. Can Sakura and Cherry do the impossible and secure a win over the Asia Dream Tag Team Champions?
