For IMPACT Wrestling, this summer’s Slammiversary was a huge event that saw the likes of EC3, Brian Myers, Heath, the Good Brothers and the Motor City Machine Guns all either make returns or debuts with the company. It was teased that much of the same could happen at Bound for Glory, IMPACT’s biggest PPV of the year. And in the early going, things certainly didn’t disappoint as in IMPACT’s Call Your Shot Gauntlet, James Storm, Shawn Daivari and Swoggle made appearances in the match.

Last seen wrestling on the indies with companies such as WrestlePro and Absolute Intense Wrestling, Swoggle returned to the Call Your Shot Gauntlet for the second year in a row. Known for his nine year career in WWE, Swoggle has wrestled for all of the U.S. majors including IMPACT where he first debuted in 2016.

Fellow ex-WWE wrestler Shawn Daivari, looking as good as he ever did, also returned in the match. Most recently a producer with WWE, Daivari is known for both his time there as well as his run with IMPACT Wrestling in 2008-09. Daivari first debuted with IMPACT when it was under the NWA banner in 2003. After three years in WWE, the 36-year-old former associate of Muhammed Hassan, returned to IMPACT where he enjoyed the best period of his career. As Sheik Abdul Bashir, a political prisoner stuck in the confines of TNA, Daivari won the X Division title once and had the opportunity to wrestle the likes of Jay Lethal, Eric Young, Bobby Lashley, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles and more.

And then there was the biggest return of all, that of TNA Original, James Storm. Currently a tag team champion with NWA and last linked to a WWE return prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea of Storm returning to IMPACT was certainly not something many expected. Though, when it comes to Storm and IMPACT, nothing is out of the question. An absolute legend in IMPACT/TNA, the 43-year-old Storm was with the company from 2002-17. The last Original to leave, Storm departed the company as a 7x tag team champion, four of those reigns coming alongside Bobby Roode as the beloved Beer Money. He also won the world title once and completed the triple crown in 2016 when he won the King of the Mountain Championship. Part of several notable factions/teams while with IMPACT, Storm is one of the most notable TNA wrestlers in the history of the company.
There is no word on if these returns are one-offs or part of a larger signing, much like what happened at Bound for Glory.
