Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #49 (9/20/20)

ChocoPro 49

With only a few episodes until the season three finale, Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling returns with the forty-ninth installment of ChocoPro. This is set to be yet another must-see YouTube event, capped off with a main event pitting two of the company’s top stars against each other. Furthermore, we should hopefully have more information regarding the landmark fiftieth episode of ChocoPro. Without any further ado, let’s get into episode forty-nine and everything that has been confirmed thus far.

Emi Sakura vs. Chie Koishikawa

With resilience that can’t be beat, Chie Koishikawa returns for another edition of ChocoPro. She has quickly endeared herself to the Gatoh Move faithful with her boundless energy and undeniable cheerful nature. However, as much of a success as she’s been in janken tournaments, as evidenced by the previous episode, her win-loss record from bell to bell leaves something to be desired. To this point, she will challenge Emi Sakura, the very individual who brought her in to Gatoh Move. Anyone that has seen Sakura work can attest to her formidable nature as an opponent. Will this be another match where the Gatoh Move founder emerges successful or can Koishikawa can pull off arguably the biggest upset in company history?

Lulu Pencil vs. Chon Shiryu

Last time on ChocoPro, Chon Shiryu made his debut on the YouTube show, taking on DDT Universal Champion Chris Brookes in a competitive match-up. Despite losing, Shiryu was incredibly competitive and even exercised his comedic chops. On episode forty-nine, this kung fu specialist will return to Ichigaya Chocolate Square to challenge “The Mighty” Lulu Pencil. The Pencil Army leader will enter this match with confidence on her side; the same episode where Shiryu made his debut, Lulu Pencil picked up a tag team victory alongside Tokiko Kirihara. Gatoh Move’s freelance writer possesses both an unyielding spirit and resourceful, crafty offense. It will be these qualities that, ideally, will take her to yet another victory. Can this occur at the expense of Shiryu?

Mei Suruga vs. Yuna Mizumori (ChocoPro Main Event)

As stated earlier, these are two of the top stars in Gatoh Move. Thus, Mei Suruga and Yuna Mizumori have crossed paths multiple times, both in tag team action and singles affairs. On the surface, they are incredibly similar, as they sport colorful attires, have an affinity for fruit, and have been part of multiple ChocoPro match of the season candidates. However, they also possess a long-standing feud that has only grown over time.

Who can forget episode fifteen of ChocoPro, which saw the first instance of choco-theft? Suruga won this episode’s janken tournament, which entitled her to the celebratory piece of chocolate. Having lost in the same tournament, Mizumori attacked Gatoh Move’s “Apple Girl,” stealing the chocolate before exiting Ichigaya Chocolate Square through the window. Two episodes later, Suruga and Mizumori squared off in 30-minute iron man aatch, which the “Pineapple Girl” won four falls to three. Despite this victory, Mizumori’s quest toward greater strength wasn’t done.

Since season one of ChocoPro, the feud between Suruga and Mizumori has become less intense. While they are less likely to be on the same side of Ichigaya, their hatred hasn’t been nearly as palpable. However, this match is no less important to both. If Suruga wins, she will enjoy major momentum heading into this season’s finale. A win for Yunamon could bring her that much closer to achieving the strength she desires. Simply put, this main event isn’t one to miss.
