It’s an 11 match card this week on AEW DARK, featuring some new debuts, the return of familiar faces, and a true inspirational story that will find a more than deserving stage as the Buffalo Brothers’ Kevin Blackwood and Daniel Garcia wrestle on AEW for the first time, doing so against their mentor, the Blade, and his partner, the Butcher. This will be another great AEW DARK, with matches of all varieties. You won’t want to miss it.

Dark Order vs Private Party and the Gunn Club
It’s a mega 10-man tag team match as Dark Order’s Stu Grayson, Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds and John Silver take on the high-flying Private Party and undefeated Billy and Austin Gunn. Dark Order has had their ups and downs this year under the watchful eye of Mr. Brodie Lee. This match will see the most successful of the group, Grayson and Uno, team with the least successful. Maybe some of their winning ways can rub off on Silver and Reynolds, who have just a handful of wins on the year. Meanwhile, Private Party is trying to work their way back into tag title contention and will do so along with the Gunn Club, who have been making their case to be in the title picture, given their blemish-free mark as a duo.
Butcher and the Blade vs Kevin Blackwood and Daniel Garcia
It’s an all Buffalo boys showdown when the fast-rising Butcher and the Blade take on the debuting Kevin Blackwood and Daniel Garcia. 1/2 of the Buffalo Brothers alongside Puf and Kevin Bennett, the 29-year-old Blackwood and 21-year-old Garcia have been wrestling for just a handful of years. Also known as Black Death, Blackwood and Garcia began partnering in 2018. Known for their time in the Northeast and Canadian indie scenes, the Buffalo Brothers found a mentor in Pepper Parks, AKA the Butcher, as he helped train and provide opportunities for the crew, much as he is this week. This story is remarkable in many ways as Blackwood, Garcia and the rest of the boys were in a horrific car accident in 2019 with Blackwood and Garcia suffering the worst of the injuries. In July 2019, the Buffalo Brothers rode again and now, on AEW DARK, they’ve got a huge opportunity to show a national audience what the regional one in Canada and the Northeast already knows.
Maxx Stardom and Dontae Smiley vs Best Friends
Looking for a tune-up prior to their huge street fight on Wednesday night, Best Friends return to DARK to take on the AEW debuting team of Maxx Stardom and Dontae Smiley. Best Friends have been one of the AEW’s top tag teams in the promotion’s short history, something that in many ways has been a surprising success story. Currently, in the midst of a feud with Santana and Ortiz, Trent and Chuck Taylor will look to get another DARK win this week. Their opponents are a pair of indie wrestlers, who will be working together for the first time. Not quite having the chemistry of Best Friends, Stardom and Smiley do have a decent amount of wrestling experience. Wrestling since 2008, Stardom has appeared on Combat Zone Wrestling, REAL Pro Wrestling, Independent Championship Wrestling, and most recently, MLW. He’s also wrestled a few matches for WWE. A Texas native, Smiley has only been on the scene for five years, having wrestled just under 50 matches.
Brian Cage vs Megabyte Ronnie
Brian Cage has had some opportunities slip through his fingers lately. He lost his chance to win the world title, and then at All Out, fell short in the Casino Battle Royale for his chance to get the #1 contendership. But Cage’s record is still near pristine and he’ll return to DARK, looking to continue dominating inferior opponents, such as Megabyte Ronnie, who made his AEW debut as the guy who are the Young Bucks’ apology cakes on this week’s Being the Elite. A former US Army veteran and current competitive eater, Ronnie is also a pro wrestler who’s Tough Enough submission video in 2015 actually landed on WWE’s YouTube page. The 31-year-old Buffalo native, who recently wrestled for Beyond’s studio shows, is relishing the opportunity, even though the outcome will never be in doubt.
Colt Cabana vs QT Marshall
Colt Cabana is still, maybe, kind of, in the cult that he sort of got kicked out, but never joined in the first place. Yeah, that’s a lot. While it’s unknown if he’ll be cornered by any of his Dark Order running mates, his opponent, QT Marshall, will have his good luck charm in his corner with Allie. Cabana vs Marshall won’t be a mat classic, but it should be fun to see where things go in terms of the budding relationships both are currently navigating themselves through.
Jessy Sorenson vs Will Hobbs
From DARK enhancement talent to someone poised to pick up victories, Will Hobbs returns, once again the favorite to win his match. AEW has yet to announce the official signing of the 10+ year veteran out of the California indie scene, but it seems a formality at this point. He’ll face the former TNA Wrestling talent, the returning Jessy Sorenson, who made his DARK debut a few weeks ago. Hobbs will be looking for his second win in a row, after somewhat easily defeating his opponent last week.
Penelope Ford vs Dani Jordyn
Fresh off the announcement that her groom-to-be landed the best man of his dreams, it’s a wonder if Penelope Ford will be looking for her maid-of-honor as well. That woman isn’t likely to be Dani Jorydn, who is one of the AEW DARK favorites among the women’s side of the roster. Ford has been riding a nice run of late, picking up wins and just having an overall successful year. But Jordyn has also made the most of her opportunities putting on good matches every chance she’s gotten. Expect this week’s to be no different.
Red Velvet vs Brandi Rhodes
Red Velvet is back for another AEW DARK match, but all the focus on this one is on Brandi Rhodes. Returning to the ring for her match since August and her first since the beatdown by Anna Jay, Rhodes is ready to work her way back for a challenge with the Queenslayer, which should be coming soon. But in the meantime, you can expect Rhodes to take the track many others have gone on, picking up wins to build out her resume, on DARK. Velvet has impressed in her limited appearances but Rhodes will look to show she can handle herself as well, in just her first singles match this year.
Santana and Ortiz vs Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.
There’s been a new Santana and Ortiz in town and they’ve had a mean streak that Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr., are unfortunately about to run into. After spending much of their AEW run somewhat languishing in the background as Inner Circle’s tag team, Santana and Ortiz have picked up big wins lately and in dominant fashion. Currently, in the midst of a feud with Best Friends that should culminate on Wednesday with the street fight, Santana and Ortiz will be in no mood to play nice with the affectionately nicknamed, New Hollywood Blondes. Garrison and Pillman have been a fun team to watch in their limited DARK appearances. They should have another good showcase this week, even if they will have their hands full with the tricks Santana and Ortiz will likely have up their sleeves.
Skyler Moore and Rache Chanel vs Diamante and Ivelisse
Winners of the AEW women’s tournament, Diamante and Ivelisse return to tag team action against AEW DARK familiar faces in Skyler Moore and Rache Chanel. Diamante and Ivelisse looked great in the women’s tournament as the two unsigned talents continued to showcase why they deserve to be added to the women’s roster. With Ivelisse set to challenge Thunder Rosa on Dynamite on Wednesday with the NWA Women’s title on the line, no doubt will she and Diamante look for a big win to keep momentum high. Undefeated as a team, Diamante and Ivelisse have a great chance to add to their winning ways on Tuesday’s DARK.
Brandon Cutler vs Peter Avalon
Over the history of professional wrestling, matches of a certain significance have been billed with taglines such as the recent, “greatest wrestling match ever” moniker given to the WWE clash of Edge and Randy Orton. Well, if there were to be a tagline for Brandon Cutler vs Peter Avalon it would simply be, “there has to be a winner.” While a double countdown, double DQ, match stoppage, etc are all options here, it’s finally time for AEW to put an end to at least one of the company’s two-year-long losing streaks. Both Cutler and Avalon are 0-for-forever and it seems like that will change Tuesday when the former enemies, turned partners, turned enemies again, will fight tooth and nail in the main event to claim that first victory. The only question that remains is what role will Leva Bates, who seemed absolutely gutted by the breakup, play in the potential outcome?
