On December 24th Oedo Tai member Hazuki had her last match. Just one day later on December 25th, her stable leader Kagetsu gave fans the worst possible Christmas present as she announced her retirement.

Kagetsu will wrestle for Stardom for the final time on January 26th and will officially retire at a self-produced show on February 24th, presumably making some stops at the likes of Sendai Girls and Oz Academy before she retires.
Kagetsu leaves Stardom having been one of it’s biggest stars. She was the leader of the popular Oedo Tai faction, she is one of the few people to ever hold the World Of Stardom championship, she is also a two-time Goddesses Of Stardom and Artist Of Stardom champion. Behind the scenes, she has also taken over as Stardom’s trainer which means her impact on the company will still be felt long after she leaves.
Kagetsu was actually trained by Meiko Satomura and started her career as Yukari Ishino in Sendai Girls in 2008. She spent most of her career working as many promotions as possible and won titles in Oz Academy and JWP, she also competed for Pro Wrestling WAVE, NEO Ladies, Ice Ribbon and even Gatoh Move.
For some fans this retirement is sudden but Kagetsu has been wrestling for over eleven years and the amount of tape on her neck has grown ever since her red belt run. She even wanted to retire previously but she stated in an interview that Io Shirai convinced her not to retire. While this is a sad loss for Stardom and wrestling, in general, we can’t deny that Kagetsu has given us more than we could ask of any wrestler and we plan to spend the last two months of her career celebrating her talents.
