Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) has become Germany’s most recognizable promotion and is amongst the top promotions in Europe. Known for its hard-hitting ring action and unique athleticism, it’s become a European powerhouse since its founding in 2000. In 2014, they launched a new annual event called Superstars of Wrestling, and this Saturday they hold their 6th edition with Superstars of Wrestling 2019.

A couple of European veterans team up with one of wXw’s emerging young stars as “The Flying Dutchman” Leon van Gasteren, a 20-year pro from the Netherlands, and 3x wXw Tag Team Champion Avalanche team up with Julian Pace to face The Crown (Jurn Simmons & Alexander James), who are joined by another Netherlands veteran in Emil Sitoci. This could be a sleeper match, as there’s a lot of experience in the ring, intertwined with some members on each side who have been having issues with one another over the past few months.

Absolute Andy & Jay FK (Francis Kaspin & Jay Skillet) vs. Hardcore Holly & Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)

Former World Champion Absolute Andy is looking to get back into the main event scene but first he’s teaming up with one of wXw’s top tag teams in Jay-FK, who are trying to get back into the tag team title hunt themselves. For this team, they have a unique threat ahead of them. While Jay-FK will be facing off against the wXw World Tag Team Champions Aussie Open in this match, the UK indie sensations are teaming up with one of the toughest men in the sport, in former WWE Superstar Hardcore Holly.

Brian Cage vs. Lucky Kid

Huge singles match featuring two indie stars who are on top of the world right now. Reigning IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion Brian Cage is back in action after an injury from his title winning match at IMPACT Rebellion last month and he’s taking on one of wXw’s hottest stars right now in this year’s 16 Carat Gold winner Lucky Kid.

Ken Shamrock vs. Veit Müller

Ken Shamrock has been on a comeback run in pro wrestling since last fall, when he returned to the ring in Australia. He’s primarily worked overseas since then and it continues this Saturday when he makes his wXw debut at Superstars of Wrestling. He’s facing one of wXw’s resident tough guys in Veit Müller, who is on a bit of a winning streak with big wins over David Starr, Ilja Dragunov, Marius Al-Ani and Oliver Carter of late.

Ilja Dragunov is now one of NXT UK’s newest stars, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with in wXw, where he’s a former wXw Unified World Champion, 2x wXw Shotgun Champion and 2x wXw World Tag Team Champion. The Russian superstar is in for a classic showdown against another of the wXw greats in former Shotgun Champion Marius Al-Ani. Al-Ani spent years in one of wXw’s top tag teams, A4 with Absolute Andy, and has been a singles stud the past year.

WWE UK Champion WALTER returns to his home promotion for Superstars of Wrestling to face one of the top emerging stars from the US indies in Wheeler YUTA. YUTA has been on a tour with wXw since early May, but this will be his toughest test since arriving in Germany.

NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm is in her second reign as wXw Women’s Champion and on Saturday she puts it on the line in a Fatal Four Way match. One opponent is a fellow NXT UK star (and former wXw Women’s Champion herself) in Killer Kelly, in what is truly an international affair. Storm is from Australia, Kelly is from Portugal, and the other two opponents include one of France’s top stars in Amale Winchester and Valkyrie, an emerging star from Ireland’s indie scene.

wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Bobby Gunns (c) vs. Joey Janela

Bobby Gunns is nearing 90-days as Unified World Champion, defending his title against the likes of Absolute Andy (whom he defeated for the title during 16 Carat Gold in April), Marius Al-Ani, Shigehiro Irie, and Ilja Dragunov, and on Saturday he faces his first American challenger. All Elite Wrestling (AEW)’s resident “Bad Boy” Joey Janela is heading to Germany on Saturday to make his challenge for wXw’s top singles title.
