The landscape of Lucha Underground changed in the span of one episode. After the new Dark Fenix attacked El Dragon Azteca Jr., Marty The Moth won the Gift Of The Gods Championship. In the show’s main event, LU champion Pentagon Dark defended against King Cuerno and Mil Muertes in an absolute war.

After the match, Marty the Moth came out to challenge Pentagon and cashed in his newly won Gift Of The Gods championship. What should have been a one-sided affair was much tougher as Pentagon Dark would not stay down. When it looked like Dark had turned the tide, a female slithered out from under the ring to hit a Canadian Destroyer and leave him prone to allow Marty Martinez to become the new Lucha Underground championship. The crazed, rich Martinez had fortune smile upon him with both his opponents tonight being weakened and used his money to persuade Antonio Cueto to bend the rules in his favor.

The female dubbed a “Black Widow” is known to indie fans as the former Laurel Van Ness in Impact. Indie star Chelsea Green had been rumored to be joining the WWE, but instead is here in Lucha Underground for the foreseeable future. Her assist allowed LU lifer Marty the Moth to finally capture the LU championship. In the span of one episode, the season long arc of El Dragon Azteca’s road to Ultima Lucha and Pentagon’s reign on top have been sent off the track as everything has changed.
