Madison Rayne Signs With Ring of Honor’s WOH Division

Women of Honor, the women’s division of Ring of Honor, announced this evening that former 5x IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne has officially signed to be a part of the company. Madison Rayne herself had previously broken the news earlier in the day on the podcast of former WWE and ECW Superstar Taz.

Madison Rayne had initially left IMPACT Wrestling last July, having a WWE tryout in October, but returned for a brief run this summer that culminated in a Knockouts title match against champion Su Yung at this year’s Slammiversary. She left IMPACT once again following the event. She most recently appeared for the WWE in this year’s Mae Young Classic, but lost in the first round to indie veteran Mercedes Martinez last week.

This is somewhat of a homecoming for Madison Rayne, as she actually appeared with Ring of Honor back in 2008 prior to join IMPACT (then TNA), where she competed as Ashley Lane. Last November, she returned to ROH to compete in a match against Deonna Purrazzo at ROH Survival of the Fittest, which lead to Madison’s entry into the tournament to crown the inaugural WOH Champion. Although Rayne was defeated in the first round by Mandy Leon, she continued to work several other WOH matches, including facing WOH Champion Sumie Sakai at the July tapings for ROH TV.
