Madison Square Garden is set for another episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Surprisingly, it is only the second time the classic show has been hosted inside the World’s Most Famous Arena. MSG is WWE’s backyard, and for the history that surrounds the mecca, the world can assume that this Saturday will be one of the best shows in its history.
Four matches have been announced for the card, and each one will be an entertaining affair. The matches represent all levels of WWE’s roster and will no doubt have a lot of influence over what the product will look like as WWE marches towards SummerSlam.
The winners from WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will have all the momentum as the Biggest Party of the Summer approaches, but who will those winners be? Only a handful of competitors can claim victory on Saturday, and below we will look at who has the best chance.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Predictions (7/18/26) – Live in MSG
Danhausen v JD McDonagh
The injection of Danhausen into WWE’s weekly programming has been fantastic. He is the perfect comedic foil for the heels of WWE and has been a thorn in the side of the Judgement Day. His issues with Dominik Mysterio started things off, and they have then branched out to include all members of Raw’s biggest heel faction.
The segments and matches involving Danhausen and the Judgement Day have been hilarious, and this will no doubt translate into an entertaining contest come Saturday.
McDonagh and Danhausen may surprise the people inside MSG. Both are very gifted workers, but haven’t been given much of a spotlight to show this off. Saturday, they will get their chance and will hopefully show the world what they are made of. Of course, this match will include the craziness that has come to be associated with Danhausen, and it’s that chaos that will give Mr Hausen the victory.
His undefeated streak will remain intact, and the MSG crowd will love it.

Brie Bella & Paige v Fatal Influence
Seeing Paige make her long-awaited return to WWE at WrestleMania 42 was a great moment. The pop was incredible, and she didn’t appear to lose a step, aiding Brie Bella in capturing the Women’s Tag Team Championships. However, since then, they haven’t had much of a push from the office, languishing in throwaway matches on WWE television.
It appears as if the tag team championship run of these WWE legends is coming to an end, and Madison Square Garden will be the place.
Fatal Influence needs to wear some gold to keep its momentum going. They have been the perfect heel faction on SmackDown, and the sky is the limit. Jacy Jane, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid are the future of the Women’s division and need a watershed victory to cement that progress.
They will provide an ideal pairing for Paige and Brie Bella, and it’s assured that this match will be entertaining, but make no mistake, Fatal Influence will get their first taste of main roster gold on Saturday.

Bayley v Lyra Valkyria
Lyra Valkyria’s heel turn was a much-needed boost to her character. Her talent was wasting away, and a reboot was essential to keep her relevant in WWE. Bayley was the natural person for her to turn on, as they have been tag-team partners for a while now, and it makes for a great story. We have already seen Valkyria lean into her story of being tired of carrying Bayley, and the veteran is now ready to stop her former friend’s momentum in its tracks.
This should be an excellent match in terms of wrestling quality. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are fantastic workers and are adept at using psychology to tell a story outside of wrestling. There wasn’t much time to put into the build towards this encounter, but both will make up for that with a spirited match.
One that will see Lyra Valkyria get the victory over her former mentor. WWE may have something with her unhinged character, and a victory is essential to her development.

CM Punk & Cody Rhodes v Gunther & Sami Zayn
When it comes to the multiple stories involved in this match, WWE is playing chess while the rest of the world is playing checkers. The layers of storytelling that have gone into the history between these four men are exactly what one would want from a top-level program.
It has been firmly established that none of these men trusts one another, and that none of them has given the others reasons to. Each has recently held World Championships, and Madison Square Garden is the perfect venue to keep these tensions going.
The quality of this match shouldn’t be a question in anyone’s mind. Sami Zayn, CM Punk, Gunther and Cody Rhodes have been entertaining the masses for years, always rising to great heights when the lights are at their brightest, and they don’t get brighter than Madison Square Garden.
The biggest question is how WWE is going to lean with the winners. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are headed for SummerSlam, so it would make sense to have them emerge victorious.
It would also follow that Rhodes and Punk can’t coexist, thus allowing Gunther and Sami Zayn to get the win. For SummerSlam’s build, seeing a larger rift created between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk would seem logical. Sami Zayn and Gunther will have their hands raised when this match has concluded.
